University Rehabilitation Center "Karazin ReHab"

The University Rehabilitation Center "Karazin ReHab" is a structural subdivision of the Department of Social Educational Initiatives and Community Development of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Its mission is to conduct educational and research activities in the field of comprehensive medical rehabilitation of servicemen (mobilized individuals), persons discharged from military service, in particular war veterans and their family members, family members of deceased (fallen) war veterans, family members of deceased (fallen) Defenders of Ukraine, as well as individuals whose injuries are not related to military actions.

The arrangement of the premises of the Scientific and Practical Rehabilitation Center "Karazin ReHab" was carried out thanks to a project implemented by the Veteran Development Center of Karazin University together with the NGO "Association of Alumni, Faculty, and Friends of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University," with technical administration by ISAR Ednannia and support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, funded by the European Union within the project “EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine,” as well as financial support from the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Additional support was provided by our alumna and Paralympic medalist Maryna Lytovchenko.

The main areas of activity of Karazin ReHab are:

  • Supporting the educational activities of students of the School of Medicine, the Second School of Medicine, the School of Psychology, the Center for Postgraduate Medical Education, and the Department of Social Educational Initiatives and Community Development;

  • Ensuring opportunities for scientific research in the field of rehabilitation, introducing innovative methods and technologies to improve rehabilitation outcomes. Systematic monitoring of the rehabilitation process and evaluation of achieved results to make adjustments and improve the quality of provided services;

  • Cooperating with civil society organizations, charitable foundations, veterans’ organizations, and other associations within social projects aimed at developing and implementing joint programs to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation services, provide social support to patients, and facilitate their integration into society;

  • Cooperating with organizations, institutions, education providers, and healthcare institutions to implement joint programs and projects aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process.
