World Tourism Day: The University Extends Its Greetings
Every year on September 27, the global community celebrates World Tourism Day — a holiday established by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in 1979 to promote tourism and raise awareness of its social, cultural, political, and economic value. In Ukraine, this day has been celebrated since 1998.
Tourism is always more than just a route and a suitcase. It is a way to discover the world, explore new cultures, and gain experiences that stay with us for a long time. That is why training professionals in this field is both a responsible and creative task.
At Karazin University, future tourism professionals are trained at the Education and Research Institute “Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business” and at the School of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism. The “Tourism” educational program combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills: students study tourism management, travel economics, and intercultural communication, and learn to develop their own projects taking into account current trends and challenges.
This day is a reminder of how much joy and new experiences travelling can bring, as well as of the people who make them possible. Happy World Tourism Day to everyone involved in the tourism industry!
