American Weeks in Karazin started
On October 9, 2024, the project "American Weeks in Karazin" was launched at Karazin University — an educational and discussion platform that brings together students, faculty, and leading experts for a comprehensive analysis of the political situation in the United States ahead of the presidential election.
The project was initiated by the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business.
Over the course of several weeks, participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into American political culture, analyze pre-election sentiments, and consider the potential risks and opportunities stemming from the results of the U.S. voters' decisions.
In addition, the project will feature meetings with invited experts, students from American higher education institutions, and other guests from the U.S. who will share their experiences and knowledge.
The first lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Ivan Marchenko from the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business, titled "American Elections: An Unconventional Approach." The lecture covered the structure of the U.S. electoral system, the unique features of the election process, and the role of voters in detail.
The speaker analyzed the main candidates and their campaigns, as well as predicted possible scenarios for the post-election period.
"American Weeks in Karazin" will continue, with a series of online and offline events planned for all participants.
On November 6, the day after the election, the project will conclude with an online marathon to monitor the election results, featuring an expert studio and live broadcasts from guests in the U.S.
