The Grand Finale of the Karazin Weekends Legacy Project: Honoring 220 Years Took Place at Karazin University
Graduates from four schools received their well-deserved awards!
After a week of exciting classes, scientific discoveries, and unforgettable experiences, the participants of the Karazin Weekends Legacy project completed their journey into the world of knowledge. The closing ceremony, held within the grand halls of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, was a bright conclusion to this event. This project, dedicated to the university's 220th anniversary, stands as a vivid testament to the resilient spirit of Kharkiv’s youth and their passion for knowledge.
Throughout the week, students attended classes across four different areas. They not only learned a wealth of theoretical information but also engaged in hands-on sessions. They practiced emergency medical techniques at a simulation center, developed time-management skills, explored editorial techniques, worked with artificial intelligence, and took part in interactive games.
During the graduation ceremony, welcoming speeches were delivered by Vice-Rector Borys Samorodov, Student Council Head Mykyta Kucherov, Dean of the School of Social and Humanitarian Sciences Umlauf, Dean of the School of Philosophy Ivan Karpenko, Dean of the School of Natural and Medical Sciences Shumus, Director of the Institute of Ecology Hanna Titenko, Dean of the School of Financial and Management Sciences Shadius, Dean of the School of Economics Vitaliy Dyachek, Dean of the School of Exact, Computer, and Technical Sciences Stoikselvand, and Director of the Institute of Computer Physics and Energy Iryna Haryachevska. Each of them acknowledged the students’ thirst for knowledge, their dedication and ambition, congratulated them on completing their studies, and wished them success in their future academic and scientific paths.
As Vice-Rector Borys Samorodov noted, “We thank you, your parents, and teachers for being here with us today. Youth is our present. We look to you, communicate with you, and strive to teach you! Events like this are extremely important for us, for our university, and for our resilient city.”
A highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates. 200 graduates received a well-deserved symbol of their successful completion of the program.
The celebration was filled with captivating scientific demonstrations, inspiring speeches, and musical performances, including the drum ensemble “Power Girls” and saxophonist Nazar Savchenko from the School of Philology. Guests enjoyed witnessing amazing physics experiments, especially the nitrogen demonstration that captivated everyone present.
Each student represents our future, the future of Ukraine, and is part of the great Karazin University family. Despite the challenges of wartime, the Karazin community continues on! We keep sharing knowledge, gaining knowledge, and moving forward with determination!
