The Official Initiation Ceremony for First-year Students
Today, a Large Karazin Family Gathered at the University and in Front of Their Gadgets' Screens to Welcome the Newest Members of Our Community!
A traditional ceremony of inducting first-year students into the student body took place.
On this memorable day for Ukraine, those present honored the memory of the defenders who lost their lives fighting for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity with a moment of silence. Thanks to the bravery, heroism, and dedication of our Armed Forces, many of whom are Karazin alumni, the university continues to operate, educate, and nurture a new generation of Ukrainians under the free skies of Kharkiv.
The induction is an important event that first-year students will remember for a lifetime. To support them at this significant stage and offer guidance, the university administration, led by Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, deans of the schools, and institute directors gathered. "We are sincerely pleased and proud that the best youth of our country, under any circumstances, chooses us — Karazin University. Together, we will do everything possible to bring your boldest ideas and plans to life. And may your student years at Karazin be bright, inspiring, productive, and successful!" addressed the first-year students by Ms. Tetyana.
The Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, and his First Deputy, Oleksandr Novak, also came to congratulate the new generation of Karazin students. Ihor Oleksandrovych noted that student years are indeed the best years of life, so it is important to learn and not be afraid to conquer new heights, as the future of our city and country lies with the youth!
Honorable Doctor of Karazin University, Ukrainian writer, musician, and public figure Serhii Zhadan stated: "It is very important to remember that the future is not something that starts at the moment you receive your diplomas and become specialists. You need to understand that the future began today, and what it will be depends solely on you. I wish you a successful journey at Karazin!"
Representatives from the student and alumni community joined the congratulations, including the Head of the Primary Students Union Organization, Postgraduates, and Doctoral Candidates, Oleksandr Peliukh, the First Deputy Head of the Student Council, Sofia Panasiuk, and Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Head of the Ukrainian Delegation to the PACE, and Karazin University alumna Maria Mezentseva.
The traditional oath of the first-year students was recited at Karazin, and the Flame of Knowledge was lit, symbolizing the quest and thirst for the deep treasures of world science.
The festive atmosphere was accompanied by musical performances by the university choir "Ad Libitum" under the direction of Ksenia Pidoprigora and the university orchestra "Karazin Orchestra" under the direction of Tetyana Bogatyrieva.
