Ukraine has gained access to the EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal program for the first time, joining North Macedonia, Austria, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and other countries.

The EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal program provides educators, students, and schoolchildren with access to a platform featuring a curated collection of 50 European films. This is accompanied by modern didactic materials and thematic discussions, workshops, and lectures focused on Europe’s sustainable development issues.

The team of the public organization "Innovative Generation," which is currently involved in implementing the EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal project, includes Roman Nesterенко, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at Karazin University. This project is supported by the Creative Europe program and several powerful partners, promoting the green agenda to young citizens from various backgrounds through films and discussions in cinemas. This autumn, the project will launch with new films, a new thematic focus, new countries for registration, and a relaunch of the streaming site and didactic materials.

The program focuses on critical and urgent issues for our country and the world, such as climate change, the reduction in the quantity and quality of freshwater globally, rapid temperature increases, and the ongoing season of droughts and forest fires.

Now, Ukrainian educators can register and gain full access to the films and available didactic materials. The registration process is simple and takes only a few minutes. Without registration, only a small portion of the films will be available for streaming. Access to the platform will enable the delivery of lessons on environmental topics with higher-quality didactic materials.

Ukraine's involvement in the project will serve as a tool for increasing environmental awareness among Ukrainian youth, teaching a balanced approach to the natural world, and understanding the role of youth in the post-war reconstruction of our country and the restoration of its ecosystem. This is an important contribution to understanding the EU's climate strategy, utilizing an international platform for a multicultural approach to the green agenda.
