Karazin Kharkiv National University has Commenced a Professional Development Program for Subject-specific Teachers
Since October 26, 2023, the Center for Postgraduate Education at Karazin Kharkiv National University has initiated the educational process for teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics, history, English, biology, geography, and primary school classes.
The training involves educators from all educational institutions in nine districts of Kharkiv city, three municipal councils in the city with regional significance, and individual rural districts in the Kharkiv region. Additionally, educators from private educational institutions in Kharkiv, vocational advanced education institutions in the Kharkiv Regional Council, vocational and technical education institutions in the Kharkiv region, educational institutions in Kharkiv city under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, as well as educational institutions in Kyiv and Odessa, will participate.
The educational process for the participants will be facilitated by leading academic and pedagogical practitioners from the Schools of Geology, Geography, Recreation, and Tourism, the School of History, the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the School of Philology of the university. External partners from municipal institutions, such as "Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77" and "Kharkiv Lyceum No. 28," as well as the "Kharkiv Regional Scientific Lyceum-Boarding School 'Talent' of the Kharkiv Regional Council," will also contribute.
At the inaugural session for potential participants of informal education, the Director of the Center for Postgraduate Education, Mykhailo Tatarinov, introduced the attendees to program changes and the specifics of the educational process. He presented the training schedule with a diversified approach, conducted an orientation regarding safety requirements for the participants, and addressed the attendees' pertinent questions.
Throughout October and until mid-November 2023, education for various categories of teachers and educators in educational institutions will be conducted online. It will include a series of lectures, practical sessions, training sessions, workshops, and more, all taking into account the requirements of the "New Ukrainian School."
