Digital Literacy Training for University Staff
At Kharkiv University, at the initiative of the School of Sociology, training sessions on digital literacy were conducted for university staff. These activities were made possible through the financial support of our international colleagues and partners, including participants of the Nokios conference, the Ministry of Digitalization of Norway, and the organization Finans Norge. The efforts of the dean of the School of Sociology, Olena Muradyan, associate professor of the Institute of Applied Sociology and Social Communications, Olexandra Deyneko, and senior laboratory assistant of the Institute of Political Sociology, Daria Yashkina, also contributed to the success of the events.
On January 18, a training session on digital literacy for university administrative staff was dedicated to working with smartphones and the "Diia" application. Participants received smartphones and starter kits from the university's partners, followed by training on smartphone usage. Special attention was given to essential applications for smartphone functionality, the features of "Diia.Sign," and digital literacy and hygiene in the information space.
On January 19, a digital literacy training session was held for academic and teaching staff, as well as support personnel at Kharkiv University. The session included a brief presentation on registering process in the "Diia" application, using the "Diia" application on smartphones, and utilizing the "Diia" portal for accessing popular services.
A significant portion of the training focused on using "Diia.Sign" and digital signatures for document signing within the university.
The trainers, Dmytro Boyko and Ruslan Zaporozhchenko from the Institute of Political Sociology, conducted the sessions.
Both days proved to be highly engaging and interactive. Participants shared positive impressions, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in today's realities and their role in enhancing understanding of the opportunities presented by the digital world. We plan to continue organizing similar events that contribute to implementing the university's digitalization policy.
