The training "Fundamentals of Ukraine-U.S. Academic Partnerships"

On November 22–23, 2024, Professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics at the Education and Research Institute of the "Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy" Tetiana Bondarenko participated in the training "Fundamentals of Ukraine-U.S. Academic Partnerships," which took place in Ternopil.

The event was organized with the support of the U.S. Department of State’s Education USA network.

The main goal of the training was to familiarize and actively engage Ukrainian educators in the implementation of COIL projects, which are currently being integrated into the teaching practices of American and Ukrainian higher education institutions.

The training program included a workshop titled "Understanding National Culture and Its Impact on Business Practices," conducted by Artem Kliuchnykov, PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University (USA). The speaker leads large-scale research projects focused on cross-cultural aspects of leadership.

The second day of the training covered the following topics: "Culture, Trust, and Collaborative Work" and "Designing COIL Content Considering Cultural Aspects." These workshops were conducted by Hope Windle, Director of the SUNY COIL Center.

Participants were also introduced to effective COIL practices at Sumy State University and Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after V. Hnatiuk.

Project Manager of Education USA Ukraine, Nataliia Hrynyko, and Program Coordinator for Bridge USA: UAFP/UPRR in Ukraine at the American Councils for International Education, Yuliia Piskorska, encouraged participants to implement COIL projects at their institutions, as such programs open new opportunities for cooperation with American partner institutions, effective intercultural communication with faculty and students, and prospects for development in various fields of science and education.
