Student Roman Dehtiariov is the winner of the Chess Championship of Ukraine

From December 14 to 22, 2024, the Chess Championship of Ukraine was held in Lviv.

As a result of the competition, first-year student of the Education and Research Institute "Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business," Roman Dehtiariov, took first place.

He outperformed many well-known grandmasters and became the youngest (at 16 years and 5 months) Chess Champion of Ukraine in the history of the championship.

At this tournament, the representative of Karazin University also achieved the "Master of Sports of Ukraine in Chess" title for the first time.
