"Smart Media Summer" Kicks Off: Karazin University Launches Summer School in Media Communications
On 1 July, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University officially launched the "Smart Media Summer" Summer School, which will run until 20 July 2026. The project is designed for university students of all years, as well as school pupils who wish to master modern content creation tools, video editing, and social media promotion.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-Rector Anton Panteleimonov, who warmly welcomed the participants and wished them inspiration, productive learning, and success in bringing their creative ideas to life. During the first meeting, participants also had the opportunity to meet the project organisers and a representative of Balex, the school's partner.
The highlight of the opening day was a meeting with the Director of the University's Public Relations Centre, Mykhailo Protsenko. He delivered an engaging introductory lecture on mobile filmmaking equipment. He guided participants on a tour of the university's media studio, where they gained first-hand insight into the behind-the-scenes process of producing professional media content.
The programme will be delivered by practitioner-lecturers from the Education and Research Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the Education and Research Institute of Sociology and Media Communications, as well as business professionals. The training combines lectures with hands-on work, during which participants will complete two practical assignments focused on creating content for social media.
To join the Summer School, all you need is a mobile phone and a willingness to learn. The organisers have provided a flexible format, allowing participants to attend both online and in person.
Attention! You can still join the programme! School pupils and university students who were unable to attend the opening session still have the opportunity to register and catch up with the course. Two in-person lectures are scheduled for tomorrow, 2 July.
Participation in the Summer School is free of charge; however, registration is mandatory. You can complete the registration form by following this link.
