University professor Ihor Hirka took part in the work of the Scientific Council of the "EUROfusion" association

In October 2022, Ihor Girka, the director of the educational and scientific institute "Faculty of Physics and Technology", traditionally worked as part of the scientific council, which in previous years conducted a scientific analysis of the requests submitted to the competition. This year, the council supervised the implementation of the "EUROfusion Enabling Research Projects" projects.

The Scientific Council listened to the reports of project managers, in particular, in the "Technologies and Systems" section, where Ihor Girka participated on the recommendation of the National Research Center "Kharkiv Physical and Technical Institute". Projects in this section deal with additional heating, development of diagnostics and control algorithms.

Council members prepared a report for the management of the "EUROfusion" association on the progress of the projects, as well as recommendations for the organization of the next competitions and the implementation of the results obtained in the considered projects. Overall, significant progress has been made in all peer-reviewed projects in accordance with work plans, including equipment manufacturing and methodology development. In only one of the projects, part of the experiments were not carried out on time due to the pandemic.

Next year, a new competition in this area will be announced.
