Presentation of Results of an Analytical Study of the State of the Internal Education Quality Assurance System in Ukrainian Universities (commissioned by the OSCE)
On March 11, 2021, Karazin University hosted an online presentation of the results of an analytical study of the state of the internal education quality assurance system in Ukrainian universities (commissioned by the OSCE) «Local Quality Management Systems: Current Situation, Development Prospects, Recommendations».
The speaker was the President of the International Foundation for Educational Policy Research, Professor at Warsaw University, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine (2009-2010), Taras Finikov.
In particular, he compared the results of the first such study conducted in 2017-2018 and a new study conducted in 2019-2020, and expressed hope that it would become a tool that everyone would be able to use in their work.
In addition to the analytical analysis itself, the International Foundation for Educational Policy Research provided recommendations for higher education institutions, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and educational institutions that want to form consortiums to fight for the quality of their activities.
In total, 183 higher education institutions, both state and private, from all regions of Ukraine took part in the study. In particular, for the first time it gave an idea of the number and structure of educational and educational-scientific programs as of the 2019/2020 academic year.
Taras Finikov presented the key parameters that were considered during the study: the availability of an internal quality assurance system, the quality of educational programs, teaching, learning outcomes, faculty’s work, infrastructure, student-centeredness.
At the end of the event, everyone had an opportunity to ask questions to the speaker.
