Representatives of Karazin University Took Part in a Professional Discussion on Teacher Training

On April 9, 2026, a round table discussion titled “Teacher Training: What Is Important to Define in the Higher Education Standard?” was held at Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University, organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. 

The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching Liliia Hrynevych, as well as representatives of the Education and Research Institute “Teachers' Academy”: Director Olha Vyhovska, Deputy Directors Tetiana Holovatenko and Tetiana Datsenko.

During the first part of the round table, “Conceptual Principles of Teacher Training: Strategy, Experience, Analysis,” moderated by the Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Andrii Butenko, issues related to the psychological and pedagogical components of educational programmes in specialty A4 “Secondary Education,” as well as the specifics of awarding professional qualifications in the field of knowledge “Education,” were discussed. 

Presentations were delivered by Vice-Rector of Karazin University Liliia Hrynevych, member of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Nataliia Avsheniuk, and Head of the Expert Group of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Ihor Baluba.

The second part of the event, moderated by the Deputy Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Olena Yeremenko, focused on the structure of the specialty standard, the role of practical training in developing teachers’ professional competencies, and approaches to ensuring the professional component of educational programmes. 

Rector of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University Halyna Kyrychuk and member of the Sectoral Expert Council 01 “Education” Liliia Riabovol shared their experience and vision on this issue.
