Delegation from Karazin University Participates in the Open European Science Forum ESOF 2024
A delegation from Karazin University, consisting of the university's Vice-Rector Anton Panteleimonov and the Director of the Education and Research Institute "Schoolof Physics and Technology" Philip Kuznetsov, took part in the Open European Science Forum ESOF 2024. The event was held in Katowice, Poland.
During the panel discussion "Research with Ukraine — Best Practices for More Intensive Cooperation," the best practices for strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union were identified.
Taking into account the results of the "Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024," which took place on June 12 in Berlin, it was noted that russia's aggression against Ukraine is increasingly affecting Ukrainian science. Germany and Poland firmly support Ukraine. Both countries are supporting Ukraine in its transformation into a modern scientific system through targeted cooperation projects. Thus, both countries are making significant contributions to Ukraine's recovery. There is great potential for cooperation between Germany, Poland, and Ukraine.
Four thematic areas were identified as particularly important:
- The best possible reception of Ukrainian students and scientists;
- Building close partnerships for integration with the EU, so that Ukraine becomes more involved in cross-border knowledge flows and finds its place in the European research area;
- Supporting the restoration of Ukraine's scientific system to overcome the consequences of the war, expanding opportunities, and creating better framework conditions for research and innovation;
- Deepening scientific cooperation to jointly address global challenges in the fields of climate, energy, and health.
