Honorary doctor of the university, Ukrainian writer, and poet Serhiy Zhadan became the person of the year according to the version of the Polish publication Gazeta Wyborcza

The Polish publication Gazeta Wyborcza named Serhiy Zhadan, Honorary Doctor of Karazin University, Ukrainian writer, and poet, as the person of the year.

The publication emphasizes that Serhiy was chosen from among many candidates from Ukraine. After all, despite the constant shelling of Kharkiv, he remained in the city and raised the fighting spirit of Kharkiv residents.

In Kharkiv, in particular, the writer takes part in volunteer work: he visits the wounded in the hospital, supports Kharkiv residents by organizing concerts in the subway, and helps the military on various issues.
