With deep sorrow, we announce that on July 14, 2024, at the age of 73, Oleg Leonidovich Shylo, the former Director of the University's Center for Computer Technology, a graduate of the School of Mechanics and Mathematics in 1972, and a man who dedicated over 50 years of his life to the university, has passed away.
Oleg Leonidovich was born on August 22, 1950, in the city of Zdolbuniv, Rivne region. Oleg Leonidovich’s entire career, starting from 1974, was connected with V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. He was a highly qualified specialist who advanced through all levels of professional growth from software engineer to the head of the center. For many years, he worked selflessly and made a significant contribution to the development of the Center for Computer Technology.
Oleg Leonidovich was known and respected not only by the staff of the center but also by numerous employees of all schools and other university departments that the center served. He was remembered by everyone as a responsible and kind person who could always be approached for help with questions about implementing modern computer technology.
Oleg Leonidovich will remain in our memory as a kind, decent, knowledgeable, and sincere person.
