It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Associate Professor Volodymyr Redin from the Institute of Social and Economic Geography and Regional Studies named after Kostiantyn Nemytsia on February 15, 2024.

For over 50 years, Volodymyr Ivanovych devoted his career to Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin, working on the School of Geology, Geography, Recreation, and Tourism. He was dedicated to his department, consistently supporting the younger generation of geographers and assisting them in navigating their professional lives.

In his role as the scientific secretary of the specialized academic council for the defense of doctoral dissertations, Volodymyr Redin paved the way for many geographers from Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine.

The Karazin University community mourns the irreparable loss.

We express our deepest condolences to the family and close ones of Volodymyr Ivanovych.
