Education despite the war: rectors of Kharkiv universities on work in front-line Kharkiv and preparation for reconstruction after the war

A meeting of the rectors of Kharkiv higher education institutions took place today on the basis of the Karazin University.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov, who emphasized the need to preserve the powerful university status of Kharkiv, the Ukrainian educational capital.

During the meeting, they discussed the documentation of the damaged infrastructure suffered by each higher education institution, the launch of restoration processes by preparing a joint vision of the rectors for the start of such works, the restoration of the material and technical base and educational buildings. Despite the war, the priority is currently the support of our students and the resumption of studies, the preservation of educational and scientific personnel and the educational potential of the region.

Also, during the meeting, issues related to the peculiarities of education in the current conditions, the prospects of the 2022 admissions campaign, and in general, those issues that are most of concern to all universities at the moment, were discussed.
