Online meeting with Peter Asaro, Professor, the philosopher of science, technology and media

Karazin University hosted an online lecture by Peter Asaro, Professor, the philosopher of science, technology and media.

The lecture on "The Campaign Against Killer Robots" was the thirteenth in the framework of the initiative "A Lecture to the Victory: World Speakers in Support of Karazin University".

During the meeting, Professor Asaro told Karazin University students about the history of the creation and activities of the campaign against killer robots. The scientist explained the principles of operation of autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic combat systems, analyzed their use in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the issue of responsibility and punishment for the use of weapons against the population of Ukraine, and spoke about attempts to resolve the problem of autonomous weapons by the United Nations.

At the end of the lecture, everyone asked Peter Asaro questions and expressed their gratitude for covering such an important and relevant topic.
