International Day for Women's Rights and International Peace
The International Day for Women's Rights and International Peace was established by the United Nations in 1977. This day is an important occasion to recognize the significant contribution of women to the development of a democratic society, the promotion of equal rights and opportunities, the advancement of science, education, and culture, as well as the strengthening of Ukraine's independence and resilience.
Karazin University has always been among those who supported the women's rights movement and created conditions for their self-realization. Since the 19th century, our institution has played a leading role in expanding women's access to education, science, and professional activities. Karazin University has been home to prominent women scientists, including Oleksandra Yefymenko, Khrystyna Alchevska, Klara Roll, Mariia Nikolaienko, Nadiia Shestopalova, Inna Semeniak, Olena Yakuba, and many others.
Today, the university continues these traditions: actively supporting research in the field of gender equality, implementing policies that ensure equal rights and opportunities, and creating favorable conditions for women's professional development in all areas of activity.
We are sincerely grateful for your dedication, responsibility, professionalism, civic engagement, and contribution to the shared cause of Karazin University and Ukraine.
Special respect and gratitude go to the women whose efforts are an inseparable part of the struggle for Ukraine's freedom and future. These are the women who defend our country with weapons in hand, save lives as medics and psychologists, coordinate volunteer initiatives, support humanitarian projects, hold responsible managerial positions, make strategic decisions, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of critically important sectors. These are also the women who await their defenders and provide them with unwavering support.
Karazin University congratulates each of you on this holiday! We wish you good health, inspiration, stability, boundless energy, new achievements, and the fulfillment of all your dreams.
