Science Amidst the War: Event on the Occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development
Today, a solemn event took place on the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development, titled "Science Despite War."
Within the walls of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, World Science Day for Peace and Development was celebrated. In a safe environment, distinguished scientists, talented educators, and progressive youth gathered, contributing to the development of our region and country. The participants were honored with an award ceremony. Recognitions for their scientific achievements were also presented to members of the Karazin community!
At the beginning of the event, Olga Bezpalova, the Director of the Department of Science and Education of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and an honored figure in science and technology in Ukraine presented the achievements of scientists from the Kharkiv region. They discussed the results of this year's academic ranking of Ukrainian universities, "Top-200 Ukraine," in which Karazin University holds the 3rd position. Greetings to educators and researchers in the region were delivered by Oleg Synegubov, the Chief of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration; Tetiana Yegorova-Lutsenko, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Council; Vladimir Seminozhenko, the Head of the Northeast Scientific Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Additionally, a video greeting was recorded for the participants by Anatoliy Zagorodniy, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
For conscientious and fruitful work, high professionalism, and significant personal contributions to the development of science, the Karazin community was honored with the Honorary Diploma of the Kharkiv Regional State (Military) Administration:
- Dmytro Boyko, Head of the Institute of Political Sociology, Candidate of Sociological Sciences;
- Denys Protektor, Associate Professor of the Institute of Information Technologies in Physical-Energetic Systems, Doctor of Philosophy;
- Valeriia Trusova, Professor of the Institute of Medical Physics and Biomedical Nanotechnologies, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor.
Young researchers, winners of the All-Ukrainian competition-defense of research works of student members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and their scientific supervisors, were awarded the Acknowledgment of the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State (Military) Administration:
- Viktor Akimov, a first-year student of the School of Foreign Languages;
- Olena Yezerhska, Associate Professor of the Institute of Theoretical Physics named after Academician I.M. Lifshits of the School of Physics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;
- Nadiia Maksymenko, Head of the Institute of Environmental Monitoring and Conservation of the Institute of Ecology, Doctor of Geographic Sciences, Professor.
An Honorary Diploma of the Kharkiv Regional Council was awarded to Anatoliy Babichev, the Vice-Rector of Karazin University.
The employees of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University received gratitude from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
