Victoria Yakymenko, Director of the Public Relations Center at Karazin University, and Maryna Hryhoriieva, Head of the Global Development Department, participated in the international educational project ONLY — an educational program aimed at fostering leadership and innovation among women working in Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The project was implemented by Kingston University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Tech StartUp School, with the support of the British Council Ukraine under the Going Global Partnerships Gender Equality Partnerships program.
In total, 34 participants from 25 Ukrainian higher education institutions took part in the ONLY project: Open a New Leader in Yourself. The educational and leadership program concluded in Lviv, aiming to develop leadership and innovation in Ukrainian universities. Since March, participants have actively engaged in a mini-MBA with international experts, mentoring sessions from Ukrainian and British professionals, and networking events.
The project brought together educators, researchers, and administrative staff from various regions of Ukraine, helping participants acquire new skills, expand their professional horizons, and strengthen their leadership roles in the academic community.
Participants presented their own projects and ideas for the development and transformation of Ukrainian higher education institutions. Victoria Yakymenko showcased a project titled "Creating a University Communication Strategy," while Maryna Hryhoriieva presented "Glory to the Heroes: Memorialization of War in the Space of Karazin University."
Through the project, participants not only enhanced their leadership skills but also contributed to the implementation of new initiatives at Karazin University.
