The Karazin community joined the European Day of Thermonuclear Energy for teachers
On October 14, representatives of Karazin University became participants in the activities of the "FuseNet" association. The events are dedicated to the European day of thermonuclear energy and are held in order to tell about thermonuclear energy to teachers of secondary schools throughout Europe, to discuss teaching methods for students.
The "FuseNet" association, of which Karazin University is a member, is holding such an action for the third time. The technical side of the organization of the national part of the event was taken over by the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology National Science Center, in particular Serhiy Pugach, graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, MBA, head of the EUROfusion contact center in Ukraine.
In the national part of the events, a graduate of the Institute of Physics and Technology, an employee of Applied Materials Kostyantyn Achkasov, an employee of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology Anton Taran, a graduate and a leading researcher of the Institute of Physics and Technology Andriy Kashaba, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, deputy general director of the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, graduate and head of the department of applied physics and plasma physics of the Institute of Physics and Technology, Ihor Harkush.
The speakers spoke about their own experience of numerous technological applications of plasma and Ukraine's participation in European and international projects on controlled thermonuclear fusion. Dozens of teachers from all over Ukraine joined the events. In the pan-European part, the German Wendelstein 7-X stellarator and the international "ITER" project were presented.
