Karazin University is Grateful to the Finnish foundations Walter Ahlström Foundation and Runar Bäckström Foundation for their Support
The energy infrastructure of Ukraine has been significantly damaged due to Russia's attacks on energy facilities. These challenges have negatively impacted living and educational conditions, especially with the regular power outages expected this fall and winter.
Karazin University continues to operate under a complex security situation in a city on the front line, remaining committed to its mission and ensuring the educational process for students through remote learning. To maintain uninterrupted university operations and support the educational process during power outages, appropriate equipment is required.
With the assistance of Karazin University's Vice-Rector Liliia Hrynevych, the Finnish foundations Walter Ahlström Foundation and Runar Bäckström Foundation have provided crucial support to the charitable fund Kharkiv Karazin University Foundation in the amount of 73,215 euros for the university's needs. Specifically, these funds will be used to purchase autonomous power sources and additional heating.
Ensuring adequate heating is a priority, as it directly affects the university's ability to continue the educational process. This assistance will allow for more efficient use of resources and provide the university with a backup heating system during the cold season.
We express our sincere gratitude for the continuous support from our partners, thanks to which Karazin University will continue to provide education to over 15,000 students and maintain university operations even amidst the energy crisis. This is not just support for Karazin, but also for the entire educational community of Ukraine during the most challenging times in modern history. We look forward to further cooperation!
