Karazin University Participated in the Consolidating Meeting of the Partners of the Subnational Food Security and Livelihood Cluster.
On December 22, at the Center for Civil Society Development, the consolidation meeting of the partners of the Subnational Food Security and Livelihood Cluster (FSLC) on the regional level took place. The meeting was attended by the dean of the School of Sociology, project manager of FUSILLI, Olena Muradyan, and the head of the Institute of Political Sociology, researcher of the FUSILLI project, Dmytro Boiko.
During the meeting, the potential directions of cooperation with the Subnational Food Security and Livelihood Cluster were discussed, focusing on coordinating and collaborating various stakeholder groups to ensure food security and support livelihoods at the local level. The outcomes of the first Kharkiv Food Forum, held on December 7, 2023, at the university at the initiative of the School of Sociology, Kharkiv City Council, and with the support of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the "Revival" Charity Foundation, and other stakeholders, were also reviewed. Additionally, updated information on responding to Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) issues in the Kharkiv region, the results of the analysis of gaps at the district and community levels, and the Humanitarian Response Plan for 2024 were examined.
Furthermore, participants in the meeting were acquainted with presentations from the projects participating in the "Right to Protection" competition and discussed other agenda items, including strengthening cooperation to expand food security in Kharkiv and the region.
As a result of the working meeting, plans were made to hold the second Kharkiv Food Forum in spring 2024, inviting municipal food initiatives, the civil sector, government authorities, and other interested participants.
Thanks to the team of the "Source of Revival" Charity Foundation (CFSR) and the Coordination Staff of the Public Council at the State Tax Service in the Kharkiv region, as well as the coordinator of the FSLC Cluster in the Kharkiv region and the manager of the humanitarian department of the Coordination Humanitarian Center, Katerina Lavrenko, for their maximum support of the initiatives of Kharkiv scientists.
