The results of the annual ranking, Ukrainian National H-index Ranking 2026, have been published. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University ranked second among all higher education institutions in Ukraine.

National H-index is a non-profit project that provides an objective ranking of universities and research organizations. The key indicator is the Hirsch index, a reliable metric that reflects both the number of scientific publications and their citations in the Scopus, WoS, and Google Scholar databases. The ranking was developed by an international team of scholars from the USA, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and other countries.

According to the 2026 results, Karazin University achieved a National H-index of 92, уступив лише Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University (132) and surpassed Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (82). Two universities from Kharkiv are included in the top ten.

This result is a natural continuation of the long-standing traditions of the university’s research community. Year after year, Karazin University demonstrates consistently high performance, reinforcing its reputation as one of the leading research universities in Ukraine.
