Karazin University — an Integral Part of the European Space: Congratulations on Europe Day!
Every year on May 9, Ukraine together with the countries of the European Union celebrates Europe Day. For our country, this holiday is a symbol of unity, shared democratic values, and an unwavering aspiration to become a full-fledged part of the great European family.
For V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, the European vector is not just a modern trend but a historical pattern. Since its founding in 1804, the university has been shaped by the ideals of the European Enlightenment, becoming a powerful intellectual bridge between Ukraine and Europe.
Today, Karazin University continues this tradition with confidence, proving every day its belonging to the European educational and scientific space:
- Academic mobility and partnership: we actively implement Erasmus+ programs, expand bilateral agreements with leading EU higher education institutions, and are part of prestigious European university alliances;
- Science without borders: our researchers, together with European colleagues, win grants, conduct cutting-edge research, and create innovations that address global challenges of today;
- Shared values: the Karazin community nurtures academic integrity, freedom of thought, tolerance, and respect for human rights — fundamental principles of a united Europe.
Today, Ukrainians with weapons in their hands are defending not only their own independence but also the security of all of Europe. Despite all the challenges of war, Karazin University remains an unbreakable hub of free thought in Kharkiv — a city that has become a true shield of the civilized world.
On this day, we express our sincere gratitude to our European partners for their tremendous solidarity, humanitarian and academic support, which helps the university live, teach, and develop even in the most difficult times.
Happy Europe Day! Let us move forward toward victory and the building of a united and safe world.
