Shaping the Future of Nuclear Science Together with Europe

On 20–21 August, Kyiv hosted the final meeting of the Euratom NURECAB project, dedicated to the development of nuclear education, research, and innovation.

Karazin University was represented at the event by Pylyp Kuznietsov, Director of the Education and Research Institute «School of Physics and Technology». Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Anatolii Babichev also joined the meeting.

As part of this international consortium, the Education and Research Institute «School of Physics and Technology» led Work Package 4, which focused primarily on engaging young people in the nuclear sector, promoting nuclear science, and supporting the new generation of Ukrainian researchers. Following this work, Karazin University was recognised for outstanding partnership, active participation, and its significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s nuclear education potential.

The successful completion of this stage has laid a strong foundation for continued cooperation: the European Commission has already officially confirmed funding for the next phase, the NURECAB–2 project. This opens up new opportunities for our students and young researchers, enabling them to further integrate Ukraine’s nuclear education and research into the European Euratom research area.
