Today marks the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Over ten years of war, millions of Ukrainians have become hostages to Russian aggression. In February 2022, Russia carried out a full-scale invasion and had intentions to quickly occupy most of Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine heroically resisted the invaders, continuing to defend and protect the territorial integrity of our state.
We live in times of challenging trials, during which we have managed to become even stronger, more united, and more dedicated to our work and struggle. Karazin University, as an academic community, has always recognized its responsibility to society, and this date once again reminds us of the values and mission of the university. In 2022, it was defined as "Education Despite the War." Over time, the content of this mission has expanded, and now our goal is "Preserving and Modernizing the Intellectual Potential of the Region and Ukraine."
The events of the last two years have shown how important it is to remain united and consolidated as a family. Our students, teachers, and staff do not lose faith in the future even in the darkest times. We take pride in our city hero, which remains a symbol of resilience and unyieldingness.
The university continues its educational activities, research, educational, and patriotic work. We believe that knowledge, scientific achievements, and accomplishments will be the key to post-war reconstruction. Friends and partners of the university share this belief, providing invaluable support and substantial assistance to Karazin.
Our society does everything possible to preserve the memory of those who died during the war and honor everyone who showed humanity and heroism in the fight against the terrorist aggressor. The university has a memorial to the fallen Karazinites. Currently, we know about 50 members of our community who have died in the war with Russia. You can learn the story of each Karazinite who paid the highest price in the fight against the enemy by following the link. We remember every fallen hero.
Glory to all the warriors defending our land! Eternal memory to those who gave their lives for a free Ukraine.
May the unity and indomitable spirit of Ukrainians help us every moment on this difficult and thorny path — the path to victory.
