Associate Professor Yevhen Zakharchenko is at INDEX Residency

In January 2025, Yevhen Zakharchenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Ukrainian History, School of History, participated in a research residency at INDEX: Institute for Documentation and Interaction in Lviv.

The residency aimed to develop a methodology for studying large databases within the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish research project "I Survived the Nazis, I Will Survive the Rashists: World War II and the Holocaust in Contemporary Ukrainian Discourse on the Russian-Ukrainian War."

The project is being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Paweł Dobrosielski from the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw and is supported by the "For Ukraine!" program of the Polish Science Foundation.

During the residency, two methodological seminars were organized at INDEX: Institute for Documentation and Interaction and the master's program "The Future of Heritage: History, Culture, Literature" at the Ukrainian Catholic University. These seminars included presentations and discussions on the project.

Additionally, Yevhen Zakharchenko participated in the presentation-workshop "A Brief History of Violence: World War II and the Holocaust in Western Volhynia" at the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe in Lviv.
