Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Today, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we bow our heads before the heroism of those who risk their lives every day to protect their homes, families, Ukrainian land, and the independence of our country.

Your feats are stories that inspire and will be spoken of for generations. Men and women who left the comfort of their homes to become the shield for the entire nation. Those who, despite fatigue, pain, and danger, remain loyal to their oath and duty. Every day you spend on the frontlines is a day of life for millions of Ukrainians.

Many members of the Karazin University community are also defending our homeland as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These are professors, students, and alumni — people who once taught, studied, and made scientific discoveries, and now protect what they love. We are proud of you and thank you for proving with your daily struggle that Ukraine is strong, free, and indomitable.

Your example reminds us that heroes are not mythical figures from books and movies but our contemporaries, acquaintances, friends, and loved ones. You defend not only the present but also the future — a future where Ukrainians can live freely, study, create, raise children, and develop our culture. Your determination, courage, and love for your native land are the foundation on which Ukraine stands.

We thank you for every moment, for every inch of Ukrainian land you have defended. We sincerely wish you good health, unbreakable spirit, and a speedy return home to your families and loved ones. May your guardian angel protect each of you.
