University Celebrates Sociologist's Day

Today, on October 1st, we celebrate a professional holiday - Sociologist's Day.

The School of Sociology of Karazin University was the first one in Ukraine, founded in 1990. For 33 years, Karazin University has made a significant contribution to the development and popularization of sociology in Ukraine.

The renowned sociologist Immanuel Wallerstein once said a profound statement about sociology: "We live in an imperfect world, and it will always be imperfect. There will always be injustice in it. However, we are not powerless in the face of this reality. We can make the world less unjust. We can make it more beautiful; we can deepen our understanding of it." Sociology precisely studies individuals and socio-cultural spaces in all their multifaceted complexity. In today's context, sociological work takes on new meanings and significance.
