The University Celebrates the Day of Slavic Literacy and Culture
The 24th of May is the Day of Slavic Literacy and Culture, a holiday that reminds us of the immense significance of words, language, and literature in our lives. This day symbolizes the spiritual heritage, culture, and unity of all Slavic peoples.
However, this year's celebration is overshadowed by tragedy. As a result of a rocket attack by the Russian Federation in Kharkiv, the "Factor-Druck" printing house, where numerous Ukrainian publishing houses printed their books, was destroyed. The attack claimed the lives of workers, innocent civilians. Writers, bookstores, publishing houses, and all concerned express their condolences and support. This is a painful loss for our culture, literature, and all those who believe in the power of words.
Despite all the trials, we continue to cherish and develop our culture, traditions, and language. We remember and honor those who create Ukrainian words, carry them into the world, and defend our cultural heritage.
May the word be our weapon, our strength, and our pride!
