The University Honors the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine on The Day of Remembrance
On August 29, Ukrainians honor the memory of defenders who perished in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our country.
Today, we honor the memory of heroes, their courage, and sacrifice. We also remember one of the most tragic events of the Russian-Ukrainian war — the tragedy near Ilovaisk.
On August 29, 2014, Ukrainian soldiers who were exiting the encirclement near Ilovaisk through an agreed "green corridor" were ambushed and shot. The fatal path of our defenders led through sunflower fields, where hundreds of Ukrainians laid down their lives in the fight for their land, home, and future.
The full-scale invasion by russia opened a new chapter of heroism, resilience, and courage among Ukrainians. Every day, we remember the fallen heroes and express gratitude to those who risk their lives to stop this evil, to bring an end to this war with our victory.
Eternal glory and memory to the fallen defenders of Ukraine!
