Photovoltaic Solar Cells
The purpose of this project is to conduct a fundamental and applied research aimed at improving the conversion efficiency, improved performance, stability and reduction of new perspective of DSSC systems cost.
First of all, it is expected to develop the conceptual principles of a molecular design and the synthesis of new organic dyes with polynuclear structure π-conjugated ensembles of coumarin heterocycles with a terminal unit that can be used in the dye-sensitized solar cells, and expand the boundaries of an inter "recyclization" synthesis methodology. Successful implementation of the proposed approach may be the development of the dyes that can be combined with other dyes to cover a wide range of the solar spectrum.
Among the expected results is the identification of the best combination of "IL / molecular solvent – new coumarin dye" for use in solar cells, sensitized dyes with an improved performance (high conversion) and long-term stability. During given studies the specifics of a microscopic structure and dynamics of the proposed mixtures and especially high-rate of photodynamics of the dye will be realized. The project will provide a systematic and detailed microscopic picture of the structure, dynamics and high-rate photoinduced processes in the proposed mixtures.
