Western romance literature: poetics, national peculiarities, intercultural interaction
The purpose of the research work is to analyse the poetic and cultural specificity of the Western Romance literary discourse.
The object of the study is literary texts of French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese literature of different periods (from antiquity to the present).
Studied:
- different poetic levels of Western Romance literature;
- the peculiarities of the functioning of the national model of the world in the works of writers of the French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese literary tradition;
- the specifics of cognitive mechanisms of forming the figurative space of a French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese-language literary text;
- mythopoetics of Western Romance literature;
- geopoetic features of Western Romance literature;
- representation of the problems of memory and identity in the Western Romance literatures;
- problems of intercultural interaction and literary texts of French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese-speaking authors.
The results of this study will be used by philological researchers, university professors, teachers, and students. The results can be implemented in the educational process of higher and secondary education institutions, used in writing scientific papers of various qualification levels.
The theme is being developed jointly with researchers from the University of Palermo (Palermo, Italy), the University of Parma (Parma, Italy), the University of Padua (Padua, Italy), the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), the University of Cádiz (Cádiz, Spain), and the Institute of Comparative Philosophy (Paris, France).

The results of research on this topic are discussed annually:
- at the International Scientific Conference “Artistic Phenomena in History and Modernity” held at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University together with scholars from partner universities (conference materials are available here)
- at the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Conference «Romance Languages and Civilisation» (conference materials are available here)
- in the form of publication of articles in the international scientific electronic journal «Accents and Paradoxes of Modern Philology» (website of the journal)
