Vladyslav Sergeev

Vladislav Sergeev, a graduate of the Department of Astronomy of the Faculty of Physics, died in the war with the Russian invaders.

He entered the astronomy department in 1987, received an astronomer diploma in 1993. Between 1999 and 2003, he worked as an engineer at the Astronomy Research Institute.

During the Revolution of Dignity, Vladyslav was on the Maydan as part of the Kharkiv Self-Defense Force. Then he went to the ATO almost immediately.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion in 2022, he defended Kharkiv first as part of the Kraken special unit, and then as part of the 227th Separate Battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces. Together with his battalion, he went to Bakhmut.

Vladyslav was killed by an enemy mine while evacuating the wounded.

He is survived by his 90-year-old mother.
