On May 12, 2023, during a combat mission to protect the territorial integrity of the Motherland, repel and deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the area of hostilities near the village of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, a former student of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, a rifleman of a platoon of an infantry company, Junior Sergeant Mykhailo Kornilov was killed.
