Karazin University at the Heart of European Innovation: AI, Robotics and Digital Resilience
Karazin University continues to strengthen its integration into the European education and research community. Oleksii Turuta, Associate Director of the Education and Research Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Karazin University and Associate Professor, took part in a working visit to Brussels, where he attended key events in the high-tech sector.

Participation in the European COST Action CA25178 “Agentic Physical AI” (API-Net) Project
On 9 October, Brussels hosted the kick-off meeting of a new European COST Action project, at which Oleksii Turuta officially joined the Management Committee as Ukraine’s representative. The project brings together leading AI developers, roboticists and cognitive scientists to establish the ethical and technological foundations for a new generation of autonomous robots designed to operate alongside humans. The work will focus on four key areas: the conceptual foundations of embodied intelligence, physical embodiment, ethics and trust, and education and capacity building.

Strategic Meeting at DIGITALEUROPE
A meeting was also held on 8 October at the headquarters of DIGITALEUROPE, one of Europe’s largest digital industry associations. Digital resilience was the main topic. Ukraine’s experience in maintaining the resilience of digital systems, communications and data security during the full-scale war is unique and is attracting considerable attention across the EU.
The participants discussed combining Ukraine’s practical experience with European resources, training specialists in cutting-edge secure AI technologies, and preparing joint grant applications.
