Congratulations to the third-year students of the School of Physics and Technology, Irina Kapran, and Veronika Batyanova, on receiving the grant from the U.S. State Department for "Research Abroad at CERN."

The students will travel to CERN (the world's largest laboratory for particle physics, located near Geneva, Switzerland) in the winter of 2024 and join an active research group, participating in ongoing projects. The research encompasses a wide range of topics in high-energy physics, including the analysis of Higgs bosons, searches for new physics, development and upgrading of detectors, and much more.

This semester-long program is funded by the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Wishing the winners success and new scientific achievements!
