For our university community, Timothy Snyder is not only a renowned scholar and distinguished researcher of the history of Central and Eastern Europe, but also a true friend of Karazin University and Ukraine. We deeply value his unwavering attention to our University, his sincere support for Kharkiv and the Ukrainian people, and his readiness to stand with us during the most challenging times for our country.

Of particular significance to the Karazin community is the strong bond that has developed between the University and Professor Snyder. In 2023, he was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Karazin University, and in 2024, the Professor visited Kharkiv and met with members of our university community.
