Representatives of the School of Physics and Technology Named Among the Ten Finalists for the 2026 L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Award
The ten finalists for the prestigious 2026 L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Award in Ukraine have been announced. Two representatives of the School of Physics and Technology at Karazin University have been named among the country’s leading young women researchers in STEM:
- Olha Maksakova — Associate Professor at the Department of Reactor Materials and Physical Technologies, School of Physics and Technology;

- Kseniia Minakova — graduate of the School of Physics and Technology and Professor at the Department of Physics, Micro- and Nanoelectronics at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”.

Being named among Ukraine’s ten leading researchers, the two scientists have demonstrated the high calibre of their research achievements and reaffirmed the prominent standing of Kharkiv’s school of physics.
The L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Award is part of a global international programme aimed at supporting early-career women scientists and developing their potential in STEM fields.
