The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan Presented a Book to Karazin University for the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy's Birth
This year marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet, philosopher, and classic of Turkmen literature, Magtymguly Pyragy (1724–1807). Celebratory events are being held in many countries, including Ukraine, to honor this milestone.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Ukraine, Toyly Atayev, presented V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University with a special edition dedicated to the poet's anniversary — a complete collection of his works in Ukrainian translations titled Revelations. This collection represents a significant contribution to the promotion of Turkmen literature and culture in Ukraine.
The university's Vice-Rector, Zarif Nazirov, ceremoniously handed over the book to the director of Karazin University’s Central Scientific Library, Iryna Zhuravlyova. This gift is a valuable addition to the library's Turkmen literature collection. From now on, students, professors, and researchers will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Magtymguly Pyragy's works and the Turkmen literary heritage.
In honor of Magtymguly Pyragy, a monument was erected in Kyiv in 2001, underscoring the international recognition of his work.
