Karazin University Scientists were Honored with the Order of the Star of Italy

Two distinguished scientists from Karazin University have been honored: academician Vil Bakirov and professor Olena Bannykova.

The President of the Sociological Association of Ukraine, academician Vil Bakirov, has been promoting scientific cooperation with Italian universities for over three decades. During his tenure as the Rector of the university, he significantly enhanced the teaching of the Italian language and facilitated the establishment of cooperation agreements with Italian higher education institutions.

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, professor of the Department of Astronomy and Space Informatics of the School of Physics, Olena Bannykova, has also received this high honor. Her efforts are directed towards developing the cooperation between Ukrainian and Italian scientists in the field of astrophysics and the exchange of experience. She actively promotes the development of relations between Karazin University and Italian universities.

The Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Pier Francesco Zazo, noted that these awards recognize the significant contribution of both scientists to the development of scientific relations between Italy and Ukraine. At the same time, it is a symbol of support for the academic community, students, and residents of Kharkiv, who have been enduring the consequences of russian aggression for over two years.
