International master class-2023 in the physics of elementary particles
Karazin University is a source of opportunities, one of which was the ability to immerse oneself in the world of the most complex and interesting modern science, where every step leads to an understanding of the very foundation of the universe.
On March 16, the XIX International Master Class–2023 in the Physics of Elementary Particles was held in Karazin University. The students were greeted by the head of the International Particle Physics Outreach Group, Steven Goldfarb.
Within the limits of the master class, the participants made a virtual visit to the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN (Switzerland).
Scientists of the "Faculty of Physics and Technology" of the National Institute of Physics and Technology introduced the schoolchildren to the educational and scientific activities of the university, the physics of elementary particles and the CMS experiment at CERN.
Schoolchildren worked on the data of elementary particle physics. After completing the measurements, the students participated in an international video conference together with other scientific institutions: Yerevan (Armenia), Budapest (Hungary), Dubrovnik (Croatia) and moderators from CERN (Switzerland).
Students shared their results with partners from other countries, held discussions with moderators, had a question and answer session and took part in a quiz. After completing the work, they received certificates of participants of the International master class-2023 in the physics of elementary particles.
