International Volunteer Day: The University Extends its Greetings

5 december 2024 year

Today, December 5, we honor volunteers — conscious, active, and determined individuals who are the backbone of the nation, a true example of humanity and tireless work.

Volunteers have become a significant component of the Ukrainian nation's struggle for the right to exist. Numerous successful fundraising campaigns to support the frontlines, delivery of humanitarian aid, and provision of psychological support are just a small part of the complex work they perform daily.

The faculty, students, and staff of Karazin University actively contribute to the volunteer movement. In particular, we would like to express our gratitude to the Karazin University Foundation for its active efforts in supporting the functioning and restoration of the university during these challenging wartime conditions.

Additionally, today, within the walls of the university, volunteers were awarded the honorary badge "For Conscientious Service" and a letter of gratitude from the Commander of the Operational Command "North" of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. Among those honored with the badge are:

  • Larisa Velychko, Head of the Department of Law, National Security, and European Integration;
  • Mykhailo Bilokon, Associate Professor of the Department of Law, National Security, and European Integration;
  • Kostiantyn Rybalko, a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Law and European Integration (in 2021);
  • Artem Cherniayev, a student of the Institute of Public Administration.

Among those awarded with letters of gratitude are:

  • Volodymyr Bulba, Professor of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Policy (NET);
  • Svitlana Grebennikova, Leading Engineer of the Department of Sociology;
  • Vasyl Martynenko, Head of the Department of Public Administration and Civil Service;
