Conference of the University Community: Annual Report of the Rector for 2024

A traditional Conference of the University community was held at Karazin University.

The presidium included the university’s rector, Tetyana Kaganovska; the Dean of the School of History, Serhii Lytovchenko; the Head of the university’s primary trade union organization of employees, Anatolii Holtvianskyi; the university’s academic secretary, Olena Fridman; and the Head of the Student Council of Karazin University, Sofiia Panasiuk. 

The university community honored the memory of Karazin members who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence with a moment of silence. As part of the conference, Rector Tetyana Kaganovska delivered a report on the university’s activities in 2024. She highlighted both the achievements and challenges the university faced over the past year. These included Karazin University’s leading positions in national and global rankings, efforts toward achieving sustainable development goals, and a high number of academic degree seekers among research and teaching staff.

Tetyana Kaganovska noted the increase in student admissions compared to 2023, the expansion of scientific cooperation with domestic and international partners, support for priority research areas, fruitful cultural and educational activities, career guidance efforts, national-patriotic education, and the preservation of the university’s traditions. 

She emphasized the university’s uniqueness, mission, and values, as well as its strategic and priority goals for 2025. The rector pointed out that the university is actively working to fulfill its mission, which includes advancing cutting-edge science, providing high-quality education, and maintaining a high level of social responsibility.

The discussion of the university’s performance in 2024 included contributions from:

  • Oleksandr Peliukh, Head of the primary trade union organization of students, postgraduate students, and doctoral students;
  • Oleh Kaluhin, Dean of the School of Chemistry;
  • Nadiia Khruslova, Head of the planning and financial department;
  • Anatolii Babichev, Vice-Rector.
