Karazinites Participated in events within the Erasmus+ project "Reforming Educational Programs to Promote Education for Peace in Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova/PeaceEdu

International activities

From April 17 to 19, 2024, events were held in Finland as part of the Erasmus+ project "Reforming Educational Programs to Promote Education for Peace in Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova/PeaceEdu."

In particular, participants took part in the first consortium meeting and study visit to the Tampere Peace Research Institute and the Institute for the Education of Peace (RKI) in Helsinki.

Karazin University was represented by the project manager, Associate Professor of the Karazin Business School, Yulia Kvіtka, and a member of the project team, Associate Professor of the Karazin Business School, Yulia Prus.

During the meeting, the coordinator made a general presentation of the project, discussed the University of Tampere and its achievements in the field of peacebuilding, education, and research.

The director of the National Erasmus+ Office of Ukraine, Svitlana Shutykova, also delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of this project for Ukraine.

Over the course of three days, participants presented their organizations, teams, and achievements. Issues related to financial management, reporting, quality assurance of developed materials and activities were discussed, and a project dissemination strategy was presented.

A series of thematic workshops were also conducted. National coordinators from three countries (Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova) presented a national report on assessing needs in the specified field. The project team of Karazin University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and the Public Diplomacy Platform NGO have been actively working since February and have developed special questionnaires for school teachers regarding conflict situations in schools, as well as for university students, and conducted focus groups. Through joint efforts, responses were obtained from over 3,000 respondents and a detailed analysis was conducted.
