Karazin University Members Contribute to the Launch of a New Tourist and Local History Route on the 300th Anniversary of Hryhoriy Skovoroda's Birth
On August 10, 2023, a historical and scientific expedition took place to the village of Babai in the Kharkiv region, where a new tourist and local history route was opened in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda.
The event was co-organized by Karazin University and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
The expedition was attended by leaders and staff of the Vysokhanske village community in Kharkiv region, the Regional Utility Institution 'Kharkiv Organizational and Methodological Tourism Center,' various museums, and higher education institutions in Kharkiv region.
Karazin University was represented by a lecturer from the Institute of Travel Business and Country Studies at the Faculty of International Economic Relations and Tourism Business, the Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Kharkiv City Council, Yulia Zgurska, and the Deputy Director of the Academician P. T. Tron'ko Center for Ukrainian Studies and Local History, Olga Vovk.
Expedition participants learned more about route and main landmarks on its way, provided their suggestions for informational and organizational support for the excursion, discussed prospects for the route's further development, and potential directions for collaboration in this regard.
